Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that there will be no Hamas rule in Gaza while speaking at the state memorial ceremony at the Mount Herzl military cemetery in Jerusalem, marking the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 attacks.
According to the Prime Minister of Israel Official Website, Netanyahu stated that while Israel has achieved enormous accomplishments, missions remain and will be completed, emphasizing: “There will be no Hamas rule in Gaza.”
Netanyahu asserted that anyone involved in the October 7 attacks or who held hostages is “living on borrowed time” and that Israel will continue settling accounts with those responsible.
In his address, he also addressed ongoing conflicts, vowing to continue striking Hezbollah in Lebanon and stating that Israel will not allow the regime in Iran to threaten its existence.
The commemorations formed part of Israel’s national day of remembrance for the victims of the October 7 attack, with flags lowered to half-mast on public buildings starting from 6:29 am, the exact time the offensive began.
