Lady narrates how man gave her a lift, collected her phone under the guise of saving his number and drove off with it

A Nigerian lady has recounted an upsetting encounter with a man who allegedly drove away with her mobile phone after offering her a lift and asking to use the device to save his contact.

According to the woman, the incident occurred while she was returning from buying food. She said the man approached her, complimented her and offered to give her a ride.

The woman said she initially turned down the offer because she lived close to her destination.

She explained that the man subsequently asked for her phone number. Rather than give him her number directly, she reportedly asked him to provide his own number so she could flash him.

According to her account, the man then asked to use her phone to save his contact himself.

She handed over the device, apparently unaware of what would happen next.

The woman claimed that immediately after taking the phone, the man entered his vehicle and drove away, leaving her without her device.

She said the unexpected incident left her stranded and overwhelmed, eventually causing her to break down in tears.

The account has sparked reactions online, with social media users expressing concern over the alleged incident and warning others to exercise caution when handing their phones or personal belongings to strangers.
