Public Fallout: Solomon Buchi and Dr. Stephen Akintayo Clash Over Gtext Holdings Allegations

A high-profile feud has erupted between media figure Solomon Buchi and real estate entrepreneur Dr. Stephen Akintayo, sparking intense discussion online over corporate accountability, workplace ethics, and financial transparency.

The confrontation began in early October 2026, when Buchi initiated a public campaign targeting the business practices of Akintayo and his conglomerate, Gtext Holdings.

The Initial Allegations

Buchi published a featured video pairing his image alongside Akintayo’s, openly questioning the developer’s reputation with the provocative query: “Kingdom Billionaire or Kingdom Fraud?” Following the post, Buchi claimed that more than 30 individuals stepped forward privately, bringing forward financial and professional grievances linked to the firm.

Central to Buchi’s critiques were claims of mistreatment involving young Nigerian workers. Pointing to messages reportedly sent by former staff, Buchi alleged that the firm:

Operated without clear job descriptions for employees.

Withheld or delayed staff salary payments.

Imposed high-pressure sales targets on non-sales personnel, tying basic compensation to difficult-to-reach performance metrics.

Image Management and Regulatory History

Buchi further alleged that Akintayo leveraged relationships with prominent religious leaders and respected corporate figures—such as Cosmas Maduka—to build prestige and shield his public image. The controversy brought renewed attention to prior regulatory scrutiny, including an August 2025 warning from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that flagged business practices associated with entities tied to Akintayo as exhibiting characteristics of a Ponzi scheme.

Akintayo’s Response and Ultimatum

As tension escalated, Akintayo reportedly demanded the removal of content published by Buchi’s platform, prompting Buchi to issue a direct warning: “If that video your blogger posted never gets down in 1 hour, I’ll teach you the lesson you never learned.”

Responding to the growing online criticism, Dr. Akintayo issued a statement clarifying his current role within the organization. He noted that he officially stepped down as Group CEO of Gtext in 2023 following his relocation out of Nigeria, with day-to-day operations now overseen by an independent board of directors. Akintayo maintained that inquiries regarding operational conduct or staff welfare should be directed to the active leadership team rather than tied to him personally.
