A Nigerian lady is trending online after advising women not to give up their financial independence after marriage.
In a video currently circulating on X (formerly Twitter), she cautioned women against quitting their jobs or abandoning their businesses just because they married a wealthy man.
According to her, marriage does not guarantee lifelong financial security, and a woman’s situation can change drastically if the marriage hits the rocks.
Sharing from her personal experience, she encouraged women to keep earning, keep building their businesses, and keep saving — no matter how comfortable their husband’s money makes them feel.
She added that living a soft, luxurious life in marriage is not the same as having your own money, and every woman needs to secure her own future while she still can.
