“We were arguing over who infected who with HIV” – Man arrested for k!lling girlfriend in Enugu confesses

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested 30-year-old Okpara Chibuike Emmanuel for allegedly k!ling his girlfriend, Chinyere.
According to the Police, the incident happened on September 19th. The suspect allegedly hit the victim on the head with a pestle during an argument over who infected the other with HIV, leading to her d£ath.
He then reportedly wrapped her body in nylon and locked it inside his t0ilet.
The crime was discovered on September 21st around 6:30pm after neighbours perceived a foul odour coming from his apartment. They forced the door open, found the body and apprehended him before handing him over to operatives of the Awkunanaw Division who rescued him from an angry mob.
The remains have been evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy, while police say efforts are ongoing to trace and notify her family.
The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime. The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has ordered a full investigation at the State CID and says the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
