Four weeks following the violent killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as “Emir Ajagungbade,” advocacy groups in Osun State are intensifying calls for transparency and swift justice.
In a joint press statement released on Tuesday, two community organizations—Osun Team and Osun Peacemaker—urged security agencies to expedite their investigation and make their findings public. The groups highlighted that one month without definitive answers or prosecution has left the deceased’s family and associates in agonizing uncertainty.
Emir Ajagungbade was fatally shot in September during a violent clash in Ile-Ife. Expressing concern over the slow progress of the inquiry, the coalition stressed that a clear, thorough, and fair investigation is vital to rebuilding public trust and ensuring that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
