There is a fresh twist in the Imo West senatorial race ahead of the 2027 elections.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has disqualified sitting Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma from contesting the Imo West Senatorial seat under the APC.
According to the judgement by Justice Egwuatu, Rochas Okorocha proved that he was the actual winner of the APC primary held on May 18, 2026. The court agreed with his suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1854/2026 and ordered the APC to forward Okorocha’s name to INEC.
The court also barred Uzodinma from parading himself as the candidate.
