Nigerian music star Mayorkun recently shared the astonishing story of how his music career officially kicked off with Afrobeats heavyweight Davido.
After making the bold decision to leave his corporate banking role, Mayorkun found himself in an anxious spot when Davido suddenly went silent for two weeks. Unsure of where his future was headed or if the DMW boss would ever reach out again, Mayorkun turned to his faith and attended a church service.
The turning point came at the most unexpected moment. Right after leading the congregation in praise and worship, Mayorkun was walking back to his seat when his phone buzzed with a WhatsApp message from Davido. The message was simple but life-changing: pack your bags and head over to my place.
Reflecting on the surreal experience, Mayorkun described the timing as far greater than a standard testimony, marking the exact moment his dream became a reality.
