Consumers are being urged to double-check their drink purchases following a fresh raid by food and drug safety regulators in Lagos.
Officers from NAFDAC recently raided a suspected fake production site at Zamfara Plaza in the BBA Trade Fair Complex. Two suspects were apprehended at the venue while allegedly altering expiration details on popular wines, whiskies, and energy drink brands like Bullet.
The incident underscores the growing threat of counterfeit beverages in the market. To avoid purchasing tampered or unsafe drinks, authorities advise shoppers to stick to reputable retailers and check product labeling carefully.
