LAGOS — Media mogul and African Democratic Congress (ADC) stalwart, Bashorun Dele Momodu, has voiced strong confidence in Peter Obi’s political clout across the South-East and South-South regions, projecting that the former Anambra governor will deliver a decisive defeat to President Bola Tinubu’s camp and current Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo in those areas.
Speaking during a live appearance on Arise Television on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Momodu offered a critical assessment of the current administration. He argued that President Tinubu’s cabinet is heavily stacked with personal allies rather than broad-based representation, asserting that nearly 90 percent of key appointments were handed to the President’s close associates.
Momodu emphasized that the economic hardships facing the nation transcend tribal and regional lines, noting that citizens across all six geopolitical zones—including the South-West—are enduring similar economic pressures.
Addressing the local political landscape in Anambra State, the ADC Campaign Deputy Director-General insisted that Obi’s widespread popularity remains untouched. He expressed complete certainty that Obi would easily outperform Governor Soludo on his home turf.
Describing Obi as a dominant force within the eastern axis, Momodu noted that while he personally backs Atiku Abubakar, the realities on the ground indicate that Obi poses a formidable challenge capable of reshaping electoral outcomes across the South-East and key pockets of the South-South.
