Prior to the public offering of Dangote shares, Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote reportedly offered early access to a select network of family, friends, and close associates. These private placement shares were priced at approximately $0.35 (₦460) each.
Among those who capitalized on the early-stage offer was Afrobeats superstar Davido, who briefly revealed online that he made a $10 million investment—securing roughly 32 million shares—before removing the post. With the current unit price climbing to ₦525, the musician’s initial stake has already generated an estimated unrealized profit of $2.18 million USD.
The significant returns illustrate how early institutional access and private round allocations play a pivotal role in wealth accumulation within the global market landscape.
