A young man has reportedly been confronted by residents after allegedly taking about ₦1.4 million from his mother’s bank account and using the money for sports betting while she was undergoing treatment for a stroke.
A video making the rounds on social media showed the man being questioned by security personnel over the alleged withdrawals.
During the questioning, he reportedly held a document containing details of transactions and proceeded to read out various dates and amounts allegedly withdrawn from his mother’s account.
When asked about the total amount involved, the young man reportedly confirmed that he had withdrawn approximately ₦1.4 million, which he allegedly spent on sports betting.
The incident has generated mixed reactions online, with many people expressing concern over the fact that the alleged withdrawals occurred while his mother was sick and receiving treatment.
