Olamide Speaks On Yoruba Culture: “Our Tradition Is Not Evil”

Nigerian rap star Olamide has come out to defend Yoruba culture and tradition, saying our indigenous customs should not be seen as diabolical.

The YBNL boss noted that many people are quick to label traditional practices as evil because of misconceptions and religious beliefs.

Opening up on his pride in his roots, Olamide said he is a proud Yoruba man and he has no problem embracing his culture. According to him, “Our culture and tradition are not diabolical. I’m a Yoruba boy; if you give me black soap, I will collect it.”

His statement has since triggered reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the need to preserve and respect African heritage.
