Social media commentator Daniel Regha has taken a swipe at popular activist VeryDarkMan, accusing him of being selective with his activism following his recent fallout with Afrobeats star Davido.
In a post that has since gone viral, Regha questioned VDM’s new concerns about public funds, asking why the same concerns were absent when he was benefiting from the Adeleke family.
Regha recalled how VDM once openly celebrated being hosted by Davido in a luxury hotel, where he reportedly talked excitedly about eating a plate of rice worth over N12,000. He also pointed out that VDM happily attended Davido’s extravagant wedding ceremony, an event that had several APC chieftains and the Governor of Osun State in attendance.
According to Regha, VDM had no problem with the Adelekes’ lavish spending when he was enjoying the spotlight and riding on Davido’s fame, but suddenly became vocal about alleged money laundering and misuse of public funds after their relationship turned sour.
Regha further alleged that this pattern of switching sides is not new. He cited how VDM previously criticized music executive Don Jazzy, but later praised him after receiving a N100 million donation for his NGO.
He also referenced the Victor Osimhen saga, where VDM reportedly called out the footballer over a donation claim, only to later join Osimhen’s brother on a free trip to Turkey to celebrate the striker at Galatasaray.
Regha also revisited VDM’s controversial stance during the August 1st #EndBadGovernance protest, noting how he initially wanted to lead the movement, then appeared to go against the peaceful protesters, before making a U-turn to support the protest again after heavy criticism.
In his conclusion, Regha claimed that VeryDarkMan only aligns with whichever side favors him and benefits his NGO the most.
