NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has condemned the rising cases of political violence following the death of his supporter, Christopher Nworie.
Nworie was reportedly killed when suspected thugs attacked the venue of the NDC governorship campaign flag-off in Enugu State on October 10th.
Speaking at the burial ceremony in Affa, Enugu, an emotional Obi described the death as painful and avoidable. He revealed he had to cut short his trip to the United Kingdom and took an early morning flight to Enugu to pay his last respects.
Obi questioned why an election should cost a life, calling on politicians to focus on issues affecting Nigerians rather than violence and insults.
